Budapest Közút Zrt.

The Budapest Közút Zrt. is responsible for the operation and maintenance of roads, bridges and engineering structures owned by the Municipality of Budapest, furthermore, the company performs the aforementioned tasks in relation to traffic engineering installations in the whole territory of Budapest as well as to roads used by public transport not owned by the Municipality of Budapest. Budapest Közút is responsible for the continuous and safe operation of the following infrastructures: ~ 135.000 traffic plates, ~460.000 m2 pavement signs, more than 1.000 traffic light junction, more than 320 road and pedestrian bridges and overpasses. Budapest Közút owns several innovative tools, it has an own 3D mobile LIDAR based urban mapping solution, a centralized traffic management system, pavement management system, and smart parking system.

The company has an experience with National and European Projects, it was part of, among others, the following projects:

Crocodile (developing and expanding traffic data collecting, processing and monitoring system; expansion of the communication network of traffic monitoring system; Installation of traffic data collection and monitoring devices),

Easyway Project phase II. ( implementation of adaptive traffic management system; installation of variable message sign for traffic signs/information),

Crocodile 2 (Implementing infrastructure and processes to ensure the accessibility, exchange, reuse and update of road and traffic data for the provision of real-time traffic information services; Implementing infrastructure (e.g. DATEX II nodes) and processes (e.g. data exchange) in accordance to the needs identified in Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 886/2013 as well as Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 885/2013.; Fostering cross-border, cross-regional co-ordination of strategies and services (e.g. Traffic Management Plans).
