More high-level speakers joining the conversation at TRA2020

Henrik Hololei, Jan Vapaavuori, Lena Erixon and Angelos J. Amditis

Angelos J. Amditis is Research Director in the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems, and member of ITS Board of Directors. Dr. Amditis is the writer of several peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and more than 220 conference papers. His current research interests in the field of ITS include for example automated transport systems, cooperative systems, electromobility and smart mobility both for people and cargo (ITS for logistics). At TRA2020, Angelos will be speaking at the plenary on Data-Driven mobility.

Lena Erixon is Director-General of Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket). Erixon is an experienced public sector leader with strong knowledge of transport, having held several senior positions within the Swedish National Road Administration, the Swedish Transport Administration and the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration. Lena Erixon has been a member of the board of directors and advisory councils for a wide range of organisations. Jan Vapaavuori is the Mayor of Helsinki. Vapaavuori has an extensive career in Finnish national politics, having served as Minister of Economic Affairs, Minister of Housing and Member of Parliament. As his first task as Mayor, he set forth a city strategy which champions Helsinki as the “most functional city in the world”, with a special focus on sustainable growth, digitalisation, global problem-solving, creativity and the best possible conditions for happy everyday city life. Jan will be speaking at the plenary on Clean transport – URGENT ACTION!

Henrik Hololei is Director General for Mobility and Transport of the European Commission. Earlier in his career, Hololei held various positions in the Estonian Government Office. He was mainly responsible for coordinating the work for the Estonian accession to the European Union and served as Minister of Economy. In 2004, he moved to the European Commission, where he served as Head of Cabinet of Vice President Siim Kallas and Deputy Secretary General. In TRA2020, Henrik will speak at the plenary on Intelligent infrastructure.
