COOL Nordic Cargo Hub at Helsinki airport is Finnair Cargo’s new internationally acclaimed EUR 80M air cargo terminal. The hub is the best example in Europe of robotics and warehouse automation improving efficiency in air freight and a leading example of environmental design.
Opened for full operations in the beginning of 2018, the starkly modern, cathedral-like space has been breaking records ever since. We have now set our sights on a new record of one million kilos of cargo per day. The state-of-the-art air freight hub is considered to be a blueprint for the industry and it rubs shoulders with mega cargo hubs in London and Hong Kong thanks to its digital sophistication and ambitious transformation of working practices.
Taking a special all-access walk in the hidden world of air cargo, you’ll see what it’s like to be a Norwegian salmon, life-saving medicine or a pair of shoes in the world’s newest air cargo terminal – and get a sense of how the things we transport impact lives around the world. Finnair Cargo’s expertise in precise and speedy handling of temperature-sensitive, high-value cargo will be on show, and you will learn how advanced digital technologies enable Finnair Cargo to capitalise on the expansion of its A350 fleet of aircraft.
The availability of technical tours is subject to change without any notice. All tours are free of charge unless stated otherwise. Participants must register for all tours in advance upon conference registration.
