Elisabeth Werner is an Austrian national and holds an economics degree from the University of Vienna and an MA in European Affairs (Collège d’Europe). She joined the European Commission in 1996. In the European Commission Elisabeth held various positions in budget, budget control and mobility and transport. She was spokesperson, Member of a Commissioner’s cabinet and Head of Cabinet to the Commission‘s Vice President in charge of Budget and human resources. Since September 2017, she is the Director for Land Transport in DG Mobility and Transport, dealing with rail, road and road safety legislation.
