Lars Deiterding graduated in civil engineering in 1997 at the University of Hannover. He has more than 20 years of experience in research and expert analyses in all areas of the international railway transport and intermodal transport chains. He joined the HaCon, the leading IT provider for multimodal transport in 2000, because of his passion for optimising single and interconnected transport modes.
Deiterding is Executive Director since 2012, and as Head of the Freight and Logistics Department he had a leading role in all related HaCon studies and co-ordinated several large scale European research and development projects. As member of the Shift2Rail Governing Board he is also responsible for the co-ordination of HaCon’s R&D activities. Convinced that collaboration and joint research is important for improvements of the sector, he is active as Chairman of the UNIFE Freight Committee and as Chair of the “Systems & Technology for Interconnected Logistics” group with the ETP ALICE.
