Alberto Maestrini is currently the Executive Vice President at Fincantieri S.p.A., responsible for the Offshore and Special Vessels business. He also holds the position of Chairman of Vard Group AS and serves as CEO of both Vard Holdings and Fincantieri Oil & Gas. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Naviris, a joint venture between Fincantieri and Naval Group.
Recently elected President of SEA Europe, Maestrini is committed to strengthening the association’s role in advancing Europe’s maritime industry, especially through the recently issued Industrial Maritime Strategy. Prior to his current roles at Fincantieri, served as General Manager of Fincantieri S.p.A. from 2016 to 2020 and Executive Senior Vice President of the Naval Vessels Business Unit from 2004 to 2016. Maestrini’s career spans several leadership roles in the telecommunications and engineering sectors. He began his professional journey at GEC Group’s Hirst Research Centre in London in 1985, later moving to Marconi S.p.A. where he held various key positions until he became CEO of Marconi S.p.A. in 2001. He was also CEO of Telindus S.p.A. in 2003.
His extensive experience in leadership and business management has made him a prominent figure and has been instrumental in the growth and development of major companies in the shipbuilding and telecommunications industries.
