Plenary Speakers

Alan McKinnon is Emeritus Professor of Logistics in Kuehne Logistics University, Hamburg and Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. He has been researching and teaching logistics since the late 1970s and published extensively in journals, books and reports on many different aspects of the subject. He has also been an advisor to companies, governments and international organizations, including the European Commission, UN, World Bank and World Economic Forum. Much of his research has focused on the environmental sustainability of freight transport, particularly its decarbonisation. As Chairman of the Transport Advisory Group for Horizon 2020 he helped to shape the EU’s transport research agenda.
